Think you have already seen all there is to see
in Ipoh, Penang and Kuala Lumpur? Think again, for on this trip,
we are visiting places that are not usually offered in standard
tour itineraries. These include the Teluk Intan Leaning Tower
built in 1885, Ipoh Railway Station and KL Tower. There will be
lots of opportunities for you to try local delicacies such as
Ipoh Hor Fan, ‘Ngah Choy Kar’ (white chicken and rice), Penang
Laksa, KL’s Fatty Crab and more.
Ipoh
Visit the pagoda-like Teluk Intan Leaning Tower
built in 1885 by a Chinese contractor. On the way to Penang,
explore the huge limestone caves of Gunung Tasek and visit the
Perak Tong temple before stopping at the Ipoh Railway Station,
affectionately dubbed the ‘Taj Mahal’ by locals.
Penang
We cross the Penang Bridge – the longest in Asia – to Penang
Island and stop for dinner at the famous Gurney Drive where
hawker style delights await. In Penang, attractions include
Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si Temple,
Batu
Ferringi Beach and a visit to a Batik Factory.
Kuala Lumpur
Our last stop is the capital of Malaysia and our
trip coincides with a major shopping carnival which is on from 1
Aug to 30 Sep 05. We will also visit the KL Tower and shopping
centres.
