Ministry of Education (MOE) is the overall
champion in this year's Public Service Basketball Tournament
in which 31 teams from the various government agencies
competed. The Ministry clinched the top and second positions
in the Women’s Category as both its teams powered their way
to the final held on Saturday, 14 Nov 09 at the Club HDD. In
the Men’s Category finals on Friday, 20 Nov 09 at the Toa
Payoh Sports Hall, the MOE team had a tougher match against
the Mindef team but eventually overcame the opponent to
emerge champion. Convenor Mr Wong Liang Han said his teams
were “very excited and happy” as “it has been quite a number
of years” since they last won it. He credited the the weekly
training sessions which gelled them as a team, and the right
blend of “youth and experience” for their resounding
success.
