THE Ministry
of Home Affairs (MHA) left no doubt as to their pedigree as
they swept all but two of the honours in the Public Service
Inter-Regu and Inter-Team Sepaktakraw Tournaments 2010 held
at the PERSES Centre of Excellence. In the Inter-Regu
tournament held on 23 January, MHA teams were unbeatable and
made a complete sweep of the top four positions. In the
Inter-team tournament held on 7 and 21 February, MHA Team 1
and 2 made it an all MHA final after knocking out MINDEF and
NUS in the semi-finals. MHA Team 2 emerged as champions for
both tournaments.
Edging out 28
teams from 10 government agencies in the Inter-Regu
tournament and 11 from 10 in the Inter-Team tournament was
not an easy feat. MHA team manager Mr Roslan Bin Kemat said:
“The competition was very tight as all the teams were very
good. We are pleased with the win.”
Mr Roslan
credited their win to strong support from the management, an
influx of new players, regular training and many
opportunities to play together. When asked what contributed
to their victory, he said: “It is the Home Team spirit, and
the cooperation from our various departments. They were very
supportive.”
