Foosball Champion Anyone?

Foosball is a fun game that kids and adults can enjoy.  It is also a sport that can get your competitive spirit all jazzed up!

The origins of Foosball goes back to the 1900s in Germany, when a bored coffin maker invented a game of hitting cow dung piles in a coffin box with his colleague. Using a rod with a few sticks tied to one end, the aim was to hit the cow dung to the back wall on the left of the opposing player. The idea and name evolved when it was brought to the US as a game of mini soccer, which was pronounced as “Fussball” in German. It became a competitive sport in 1970, and is today sanctioned by an association known as Valley International Foosball Association or VIFA.

Learn the finer techniques of scoring at Foosball and you might even get inspired to come up with your own creative shots. Hone your strategising tactics and have lots of fun in the process!

Coach Mr Mike Tang has been training on this sport for the past 16 years and has even won the ESPN Championship. His team represented Singapore in the Asia Challenge and came in third. He is one of the first snake shot shooter (where the ball is shot from an unconventional way using the wrist) in Singapore and is reputed to have the loudest shot around.
