TENNIS BYE-LAWS

1.

The tennis courts are open to members, their spouses and children under the age of 21 and their guests.

2.

  1. The courts may be booked by members not more than 8 days before the day of play and not more than 2 sessions in a day by any one member up to a maximum of 6 sessions in any 7 days. Booking for the 8th day shall commence at 7pm on weekdays, 2pm on Saturdays and 9.30am on Sundays and Public Holidays. A player wishing to book a court must have his / her name entered in the tennis booking record by the staff of the Club against the particular court and period required.
  1. If a member has utilized the maximum number of sessions of bookings permitted per week, but 24 hours before commencement of play, a particular court has not been booked and is available, he/she may book the court.
3. Bookings shall be made personally or through an authorized proxy. The membership card must be produced at the time of booking. Bookings shall be open from 9.30am to 9pm daily at the Tessensohn Clubhouse. Bookings shall be accepted on a "first-come-first-served" basis. However, the Board of Governors and Executive Committee shall have priority in the booking of facilities.
4. Double session bookings shall not be allowed between 5.00pm and 8.00pm.
5. The Management may at any time, by notification on the Clubhouse Notice Boards, reserve all or any of the courts, on any day for the purpose of holding tournaments or Inter-Club matches.
6. The Executive Committee shall have the discretion to approve changes in the sessions, charges and fees from time to time.
7. Children under the age of 12 may not use the courts unless accompanied by an adult member. The adult member need not play but should stay in the squash court area and remain in-charge of the children who are playing.
8. Guests shall be signed in before commencement of play, failing which, members will be charged 3 times the amount due as guests' fees.
9. A member may introduce up to 3 guests per session. No person shall be introduced as a guest to the Club more than twice in any calendar month. The Executive Committee shall have the discretion to approve changes in the guest's fee from time to time.
10. The member booking the court shall be present for play, failing which, he shall be liable to disciplinary action.
11. No cancellation or postponement of bookings shall be entertained.
12. Before commencement of play, the player shall deposit the booking receipt into the display booking receipt box located outside the court. Players who used the courts without booking shall be liable to pay 3 times the booking charges.
13. When a court is not playable due to rain, there will be no automatic transfer of the bookings. The affected party will have to inform the booking office (within 7 days from the date of play) and will be allocated a fresh booking in place of his original receipt to cover the revised booking. If no such fresh booking is made within 7 days, the fees will be forfeited.
14. The Management shall decide if the courts are fit for play at any time.
15. Players shall only wear appropriate tennis attire when playing in the courts. The Management shall have the power, from time to time, to stipulate the proper forms of attire for tennis.
16. Only non-marking rubber-soled shoes appropriate for tennis may be worn by players on the courts. Any other forms of footwear are strictly forbidden within the courts areas.
17. Players will be liable for any damage caused by them or their guests to the tennis courts, and to the property of the Club.
