BE A YOUNG AUTHOR

If your kids are aged 9 to 16 and love to write, sign them up to develop and sharpen their writing skills in this course taught by experienced writers with many published works to their credit. They will be working on exercises to develop their skills, powers of perception, sense of plot and character, and how to put it all together in a winning package of prose. There will also be a number of games to increase their knowledge of the writer’s craft as well as many valuable tips on getting started, getting finished (very important!) and improving their writing. At the end of the workshop, each participant will turn out an outline or several paragraphs for a projected story.

They will meet Ms Catherine Khoo, creator of the Young Author's Scheme who will share with them her secrets on how she successfully mentored aspiring 9 to 16 year-olds into writing their very own storybooks. These stories have been published under the Young Author's Club series.
