JOURNALISM, 1 DAY AND A DREAM

A professional journalist can cover a devastating fire this morning, review a blockbuster concert later tonight and is out the door first thing tomorrow to observe a high-profile courtroom showdown. If a fast-paced and never boring career appeals to you, this 1-day journalism workshop will kindle your interest and answer your questions.

Jaya Prakash, formerly with the Business Times and a respected journalist, will conduct this inquisitive workshop. His experience with magazines, TODAY and Travel Asia, along with his current new media portfolio at malaysiakini, gives him a well-rounded view of the trade.

The main focus of this course is to give you many of the tools of the craft of writing. Writing is one of the most difficult crafts to master, but there are no hard and fast rules. You will be trained in the research, writing and production of effective stories for public media. It’s professional coaching at its best.
