HARMONICA CLASSES

You are never lonely with a handy harmonica as your companion. Wherever you are and whenever you feel like playing a tune, you can rely on this trusty instrument to help express your feelings with music.

The chromatic harmonica offers a better range and fuller sound and is quite easy to learn, even if you have no music background. The beginners’ class (level 1) focuses on basics such as the correct position, reading of musical notes, breathing and sitting posture. At the end of 10 lessons, you will be able to play tunes such as '’Ode To Joy'’, "Rasa Sayang”, “Red River Valley” and many others.

Level 2 (10 lessons) teaches more challenging songs such as pop and classical pieces. In Level 3, you will learn to play songs with more complex rhythm, wider note range and faster tempo. Some of the songs are “Stand By Me”; a famous tune in the 80's, “Habanera”; a classical tune from Carmen and “Always With Me”; from the Japanese animation “Spirited Away”.

Benny Hong is a full-time harmonica instructor teaching in schools, clubs and community centres in Singapore. He has several years of performing and teaching experience.
