Public Service Walk @ Southern Ridges

About 800 public officers and their family members had an enjoyable morning walk at the Southern Ridges trail on Saturday, 16 May 09. Gracing the event was Mr Lionel Yeo, Dean & CEO, Civil Service College and Deputy Secretary (Development), Public Service Division, Prime Minister's Office.

Starting off at Marang Road at 8am , participants strolled through the secondary forests of Marang Trail and Mount Faber Walk, enjoying the panoramic views of the coastal seas. Then they crossed the Henderson Waves, Singapore ’s highest pedestrian bridge which connects Mount Faber Park to Telok Blangah Hill Park , and proceeded to walk along the Forest Walk’s raised walkways. The 4.4 km route ended at the gardening hub of HortPark. There, they collected their goodie bags and took part in an aerobic exercise. It was indeed a healthy and fun morning for everyone. Mr Simon Yam, a participant, enthused, “It was a very good outing; my colleagues and I enjoyed the scenery during the walk. The highlighted was the HortPark, as it is an interesting place.”
