A
record number of 203 teams from 31 government agencies
participated in this year’s Public Service Bowling Competition
held at the Westwood Bowl from 7 Apr to 2 May.
In
the finals held on 28 Apr, 30 Apr and 2 May 09, the Ministry of
Home Affairs (MHA) broke its 8-year duck by emerging overall
champion after overcoming stiff competition from Ministry of
Defence and Ministry of Education.
MHA’s triumph ended its long wait and brought great joy
to its teams. Its women’s team topped their category, while
its men’s veteran and mixed teams were among the top three in
their respective groups. Mr Rayme Koh, MHA’s assistant
convenor for bowling, said that “mental strength, regular
training and involvement in the national league” were all
vital to its victory.
