The
unique art of sculpting
with beads on wire originated in the 16th century when small
glass beads were embroidered and strung on wire to make beaded
flowers for ball gowns and jackets for members of the French
Royal Court. Beaded flowers in silk or fresh flowers, make great
inserts in bridal bouquets, bridal headdresses, hair barrettes,
napkin rings, corsages, wall hangings and other items.
Rediscover the art of beaded
flowers in the following workshop with Ms Christine Lim who has
six years experience imparting beading skills. She will be
teaching the French Flower Beading Technique which can be
adapted to make multiple types of 3-D flowers.
